August Mantra

Hey loves,
before we get into the mantra of the month, here's a book recommendation that has inspired this months mantra a lot.

This book is especially for anyone who might be feeling weighed down by the past or fearful of the future.

My sister came to visit the other day and we had a long talk about how love and pain is the same thing. When we think about it, both love and pain are connected to intense emotions. However, love can go into two directions. Your either in a state of happy-love, or you are in a state of sad-love.
Like heartbreaks for example. You are anchored to the past of when you were in a happy-love state. Now, that all that seems gone, your happy-love state gets turned into pain. You're miserable. But, you are still in love. Because if you wouldn't be, would it affect you on such an emotional level? No.

I've just recently gone through a situation where I experienced exactly that. All the love I had for that special person in my life got turned into pure negativity - into pain. How can something so innocent, so beautiful, turn into something so negative? So heartbreaking?
We get so caught up in being miserable and anchored to those questions, that we forget why we are where we are right now. There is always a reason to why you are in a situation you're in. However, often your unconsciousness - that feeds from pain and negativity - takes over.

Ask yourself, what thought is your mind creating around this situation? Then look at the emotion, which is the body's reaction to those thoughts. Feel the emotion. Does it feel pleasant or unpleasant? Is it an energy that you would actually choose to have inside you? Do you have a choice?
"Maybe you are being taken advantage of, maybe the activity you are engaged in is tedious, maybe someone close to you is dishonest, irritating, or unconscious, but all this is irrelevant." Power Of The Now,  P. 64 Eckhart Tolle calls this 'psychic pollution - millions of unconscious individuals not taking responsibility for their inner space.' And he is right. When in situations like I just explained, we resist the what is. We are so scared and judgemental of what our thoughts or feelings could mean, that we make the present moment into our biggest enemy. By doing that, we create conflict between the inner and outer. That's when your unconsciousness takes over. You do not have any control over what you're feeling or doing anymore. You let your unconsciousness take over and create a false sense of self. You automatically create more pain for yourself, because that's what your unconsciousness needs.

So, what can we do to change that? How can we free ourselves from all the pain?
"Either stop doing what you are doing, speak to the person concerned and express fully what you feel, or drop the negativity that your mind has created around the situation and that serves no purpose whatsoever except to strenghten a false sense of self." Power Of The Now, P. 65
Recognizing and stop resisting is so important. Never let negativity be the way of dealing with a situation. There just simply won't and can't be any good coming from actions charged with negativity. In fact, it will rather keep you stuck in it and in time give rise to more pain, more unhappiness - blocking real change.

You are in charge by recognizing that you don't want to suffer the pain or carry the burden anymore. Let go of it. Drop it fully.

In love,
Lara
